POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Director (must be Certified-AOD counselor) is responsible for supervising the operations of the Sacramento Drinking Driver Program (SDDP), a State licensed Drinking Driver Program operated by MAAP, Inc. The Program Director (must be Certified-AOD counselor) works closely with the CEO and the CFO in developing program services and operational procedures and has overall responsibility for MAAP’s SDDP multi-location operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties of the Program Director (must be Certified-AOD counselor) – Sacramento Drinking Driver Program (SDDP), under the direct supervision of the CEO, are to:

•Supervise, evaluate, and train all program staff; ensure the effectiveness of daily operations with a focus on continual process improvement.

•Lead by example as a role model for MAAP, Inc’s mission, vision, and values.

•Monitor and direct day-to-day program activities and client services.

•Coordinate with MAAP administrative staff including the CEO and CFO; collaborates with other MAAP, Inc. program directors. Participate in strategic planning with the CEO.

•Work with the CEO and CFO in preparing program budget, planning program services, and implementing operational procedures.

•Prepare reports including client status, fiscal, demographic, regulatory compliance, corrective action plans, and other such reports as required or needed.

•Ensure program compliance with all controlling City, County, State, and Federal regulations.

•Coordinate with the HR Director to manage the career development of all program staff. Make long and short-term staffing decisions; prepare and adjust staff schedules as needed. Coordinate services and referrals in collaboration with other State approved programs and service providers.

•Attend internal/external meetings and act as an “Ambassador of MAAP”, and liaison to other industry groups and agencies as required or needed.

•Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

•NCCA-accredited certification from one of the ADP-approved certification agencies

•Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Sociology, Psychology (or related field) desired

•Three (3) years of administrative experience, including supervision of counseling staff, in an alcohol program

•Two (2) years of experience providing alcohol services directly to clients

•One (1) year of experience managing an accounting system, or preparing budgets or cost reports (or satisfactory completion of two college-level courses in accounting may be substituted for this requirement).

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of issues relating to the prevention and treatment of alcohol and drug abuse, and the effects on the individual, family, and community. Knowledge of management and supervisory techniques. Ability to monitor and evaluate program components, and implement necessary procedures to reach program goals or to achieve program compliance. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with clients, staff, court and county officials, and the public. Excellent presentation, organizational and time management skills.
